Klarna Mobile
Telecom, simplified for the Klarna ecosystem

Client :
Klarna
Role :
Senior Design Lead
Year :
2024 - Present
Overview
Signing up for a mobile plan in the US is complex, high-risk, and difficult to navigate. Klarna users expect simplicity, and telecom is anything but. I led product definition and design for Klarna's first MVNO, operating as de-facto PM with no internal precedent and no established playbook.
What I did
Operated as de-facto PM, defining product scope and feature prioritization for a telecom product with no internal benchmark
Designed complex porting flows across US carriers and edge cases, translating carrier complexity into consumer simplicity
Led cross-functional alignment across UX, lifecycle messaging, and operations to create one coherent experience
Used AI to accelerate UX writing and lifecycle communications while maintaining consistency across the product - Secured brand buy-in and drove GTM strategy for an unproven product category

Impact
Exceeded fintech benchmarks for mid-to-end of funnel conversion and activation
Secured executive buy-in and resource for cross-market expansion
Built foundations for Klarna's connectivity platform across mobile and travel
Wrap-up
Klarna Mobile proved that telecom complexity could be made simple inside the Klarna ecosystem. The full story covers porting optimization, AI-augmented workflows, and how early wins unlocked organizational investment.
